This was our second and final trip in the RV for the 2013 season. It was a last minute thing, as we were itching to get back out on the road and spend more time getting to know our new travel companion!
We reserved a site at Meredith Woods Campground based on a recommendation and because the campground operates year round. When we arrived, we immediately noticed that there wasn’t much activity, which was fine by us. We mostly just wanted to relax and enjoy the cool fall air.
As we were checking in, the girl working the front desk decided to take a phone call, which lasted for several minutes while we stood waiting. She didn’t seem too broken up about it but we didn’t protest because she was working alone and appeared to be quite busy.
This time, we requested full hookups and were able to use the heat in the rig for the first time. The furnace started up instantly and worked like it was new all weekend. We didn’t get any rain this time but it did get pretty chilly at night. After hooking up, we stayed inside for the remainder of Friday, enjoying a nice camp dinner and listening to music.
On Saturday, we bundled up and went exploring for a while. It seems that this place would be hoppin’ during the on season, but it was pretty dead in October. We ended up at the rec hall and played a few games of pool before heading back to the rig.
Overall, we weren’t overly impressed with Meredith Woods but we’d like to come back during the busy season to give it another try. If you’re into year-round camping, this is one of the few placed in New England where you can do it.
