Installing New Fuel Pump & Filter in Our Generator

By jayjazz

After bringing Lady T up from winter storage, we had difficulty keeping the generator running for more than a few minutes. Jay wanted to try a couple of routine maintenance updates before bringing her into a professional and voila…all fixed!

We picked up the parts for this repair on Amazon for less than $50 and Prime shipping…yay us!

Many people do not realize how important it is to do routine maintenance on a generator before it is too late. Running the generator a few minutes each week actually makes it last longer. Every month, the oil and coolant levels need to be checked along with the battery level. Additionally, be sure to protect all wires and parts from rodents.

Very true Jordan. In season we run ours at least once a week with a load on it for about 15-20 minutes or so and in the winter I get over to storage about every other week and run it for 20 minutes or so with a small load on it. Low hours is not always a good thing!

I think that was the problem with ours. When we bought it I don't it had more than 20 hours on it for a 1994. So we had a few tough times before doing the work on it.

    Thanks for reading!
